Happy Canada Day to all my furry friends and my two-legged friends too!  How are you spending the holiday weekend?  We’ll be having a nice barbeque with friends on our deck a few days (yum, yum) and sitting around the firepit into the evening, telling good stories and having a good laugh.  My favourite way to spend the weekend.

I’m all ready for Canada Day, my flags are all up around the yard and I’m guarding them against a squirrel invasion! 🙂

Wow, how did you survive the heat wave on Thursday???  Let me tell you that I did not venture far from the air conditioning.  No flies on me.  I ran out quickly about 7 in the morning, felt the heat and was happy to stay in for the day.  I love the summer, but I can’t take the heat like that.  It took a toll on many gardens including ours with weigelia and lilacs that usually keep their blooms for close to a month lost them instantly on Thursday!   We’re not used to this in NB especially in mid-June!!!  Hope it’s not a hint at what’s to come.  Paws crossed and hoping.

I’m so happy that summer is finally here.  I love roaming my yard, checking out the flowers and the squirrels (they drive me crazy), laying lazily in the shade and enjoying all the sounds of summer.  I thought it would never come this year!
